The Innsbruck evening at the Ski World Championships in Saalbach 2025 more than lived up to the motto "Home of Sports Stars". Downhill world champion Breezy Johnson and vice world champion Mirjam Puchner, Innsbruck-born Super-G world champion Stephanie Venier, Super-G silver medalist Federica Brignone, Super-G bronze medalists Lauren Macuga and Innsbruck-based Norwegian Kajsa Vickhoff Lie, US star Lindsey Vonn, and the Olympic heroes from Innsbruck 1976 Franz Klammer and Bernhard Russi gathered to celebrate at the Innsbruck evening.
The Home of Snow thus became a stage for sports legends and medal winners. Stephanie Venier, the newly crowned world champion from Oberperfuss, is one of many top athletes who have found their home in Innsbruck. From the climbing aces Jakob Schubert and Jessica Pilz, who recently celebrated Olympic medals in Paris, to international stars such as the skiing couple Alexander Aamodt Kilde from Norway and the Americans Mikaela Shiffrin and Aksel Lund Svindal - Innsbruck attracts sport big names from all over the world. This includes Kajsa Vickhoff Lie, who secured the bronze medal in the Super-G. The unique mix of urban life and alpine nature makes the region not only a top training location but also a first-class home of choice for top athletes.

Stephanie Venier's family, friends, and fan club traveled to Saalbach especially to celebrate her gold medal win at the Innsbruck evening.
ORF-SPORT presenter and commentator Oliver Polzer was accompanied by numerous stars from the international skiing scene, including rising talent Lauren Macuga and Federica Brignone, and legends Franz Klammer and Bernhard Russi who were asked for their bets for Sunday's race. They both agreed: "Odermatt is a superhuman. You can analyze him, but you can't copy him."

Barbara Plattner, Managing Director of Innsbruck Tourism, was delighted that the evening in the Home of Snow became a meeting place for the sporting elite: "The Innsbruck region is not only worth living in but above all worth experiencing. Sport is firmly anchored in the region's DNA. Many top athletes and sports stars also appreciate the high quality of leisure and life as well as the perfect health infrastructure - tonight is also a testament to this!"
